[править] History of Samara metro
Samara metro was open on December, 25, 1987. The first part consists of four stations (Yungorodok, Kirovskaya, Pobeda, Bezymyanka) and electrodepot. Samara is industrial town, it's plants and factorys are primarily situated in Bezymjanka district, while most of workers lived in central districts. The subway building was aimed on transportation acceleration of workers to the places of work and, secondary, to escape the tangles on highways. Samara at this time referred to "Kuybyshev" and consequently the metro too referred to "Kuybyshevskiy metropoliten".
The length of the first stage was only 4,5 km. At the same time the second stage construction began (from Pobeda st. till Gagarinskaja st., 5,7 km) But at that time a disintegration of the USSR was happened. The destruction of Soviet Union put awful impact of all industry and transport, too, and led to impoverishment the nation in the mass... Therefore speed of other planned stages of station construction was slowed down.
Last stations have been constructed in the USSR, prepared for opening the whole 6 years! The station Sovetskaya (+1,623 km) was open in December, 1992, station Sportivnaya (+1,444 km) in March, 1993, and station Gagarinskaja (+1,484 km) in December, 1993. The first station constructed entirely in democratic Russia - Moscovskaya (+1,3 km) - has opened only in December, 2002.
